The dichotomy of her condition.....
Identified but no identity
Noticed and simultaneously ignored...
Coming and going
Ebbing and flowing
Along the tides.
Competing forces
Of expectations and reality..
Results of not knowing the costs
Coupled with letting others set her price,
Knowing her 'inside'
Only caring about her outside.
Swimming but sinking.
Smiles covering the crying.
Chasing but standing stagnant.
Respect evaporated
With a scarlet letter.
Forever tainted....
Fire and ice.
